Overarching Topics (2014-2017)
Material research within the KHK focuses on exemplary case studies regarding the formation, expansion and deterritorialisation of the Euro-Asiatic religious traditions and the historical development of their respective terminologies.
In order to connect the work of the different Focus Groups, overaching topics were introduced starting with the new funding term in 2014. Since then, each academic year has been dedicated to one single topic to which the researchers of every Focus Group contribute. During the academic year, the preliminary concept of the particular topic is developed further and refined by the individual research work, the weekly KHK discussions, and international workshops, which are held in regard to the topic.
Starting with the new funding term in 2014, every academic year has been following an overarching topic:
- topic 2014-2015: Tradition
- topic 2015-2016: Religion and the Senses
- topic 2016-2017: Transcendence and Immanence
