Discourse Comparison

Revisiting the Comparative Method in the Study of Religion

This methodological project confronts longstanding and fundamental critiques of comparison in Religious Studies, constructively engages with major objections, and argues that comparison is not only inevitable for the study of religion but can also be carried out responsibly and productively. It will propose a classification of comparative techniques and an applicable research design.
